A workspace
To learn the kind of skills we'll be teaching, you will require a small area where you can do it yourself. It doesn't have to be much, and you should work with what you already have. Make it yours.
The space
Don't have anything in mind? A corner of the kitchen bench works. A table is even better. You could even use a box on the floor. Just choose somewhere that has a light source – natural if possible, but a small lamp works just fine.
As long as you have a light source and a stable work surface, everything else is optional. Most skills need less space than you think.
Boundaries matter more than beauty. Define the edges of your workspace, even if it's the edge of your table, or a folded towel between your space and the rest of the kitchen bench.
Consistency
Set up the same workspace every time. The setup is part of the practice. Clearing the surface. Laying out your tools. These small preparations quiet the noise of everything else.
When you return to the same corner, week after week, your mind will shift when you set up your workspace. Your mind learns: here, we slow down.
You'll be tempted to wait until you have the perfect setup. A dedicated room. A proper bench. The right storage solutions. This is procrastination dressed as preparation.
The workspace you create today is enough, as long as you are consistent, and set it up with care. Once you have your own consistent workspace, it becomes a sacred space for creation. This isn't 'spiritual woo woo' – this is a mindset shift.
Find your space. Begin there.
